A Sad Day For Rock.
In a musical career spanning 14 albums and 18 years, Ryan Adams has announced an indefinite hiatus from band The Cardinals, and a desire for 'quieter times'.
This marks a break from music for Adams, however he did not rule out a return, writing on his cardinology.com blog 'Maybe we will play again sometime and maybe I will work my way back into some kind of music situation but this is the time for me to step back now'.
A gig in Atlanta on March 20th will be his last performance with the band, which he formed and fronted since 2004, and released 3 albums with. He also cited a desire to quite smoking and drinking as well as extreme pain from hearing loss due to Meniere's disease as a reason for his decision.
I leave you with 'New York, New York', from the 2001 album Gold.
